CALEB'S POSSE outrun for a half, responded when asked to pick up his pace with three furlongs to go, moved out four wide approaching the stretch, came well out in the strip for the drive, accelerated suddenly once in the stretch and closed fast to win going away. SHACKLEFORD pressed the pace three wide, challenged in earnest entering the turn, drew clear after six furlongs, drifted out in midstretch when roused left handed, responded when straightened but was no match for the winner late. TRES BORRACHOS outrun while unhurried, raced five wide past the three furlong marker, came widest for the stretch run and rallied belatedly. TRAPPE SHOT within striking distance four wide, failed to respond in the stretch. TAPIZAR close up outside the leaders, fought restraint with five furlongs to go, relaxed a bit soon after, stayed on well to the final furlong and tired. JERSEY TOWN forwardly placed early, was a bit too eager behind the leaders after a quarter, remained close up three wide on the turn, held on well to midstretch and tired. WILBURN within striking distance, moved to the inside near the quarter mile marker and gave way. THE FACTOR vied for the lead while kept out in the three path on the backstretch, angled in on the turn, battled to the stretch and faded. IRREFUTABLE forwardly placed off the inside, dropped back after six furlongs.

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY (IRE) attended the pace in hand between horses, worked his way forward through the final turn, wheeled out in the upper stretch, kicked on well once uncovered and drew clear. SEA MOON (GB) broke a step slow, angled in to save ground, shifted out on the backstretch, advanced three wide, angled out further entering the stretch, kept on well but was unable to match strides with the winner. BRILLIANT SPEED brushed the gate and was away a bit slow, settled close up four wide, moved up to engage the leader with a quarter to run, struck the front a furlong out, but weakened during the drive and settled for the show. SARAFINA (FR) tugged between horses early, moved out four wide on the first turn, bumped repeatedly with TEAKS NORTH into the stretch the first time, shook off that one then settled into stride, came three wide between horses to make a mild bid but failed to sustain the drive. STATELY VICTOR was allowed to settle five wide, finished with a belated gain but failed to threaten. MIDDAY (GB) was fractious to cross from the dirt to the turf course prior to the start, worked her way to the inside entering the first turn, attended the pace along the hedge to the stretch, got through but lacked a response when called upon. AWAIT THE DAWN disputed the pace two wide through the first turn, then along the hedge thereafter, was headed entering the stretch and gave way readily. TEAKS NORTH was rank to place between horses early, bumped repeatedly with SARAFINA (FR) into the lane first time through, leveled into stride and angled in to save ground, but came up empty after a mile and faded. DEAN'S KITTEN prompted the pace along the inside early, then to the outside of AWAIT THE DAWN after the opening three furlongs, contested the matter to the stretch and stopped.

HANSEN sprinted clear and angled in, set the pace while patiently handled near the rail, increased his lead entering the stretch, dug in when roused left handed in midstretch and lasted late under pressure. UNION RAGS within striking distance early four wide, advanced in that path on the second turn, reached closest to the winner with a furlong to go and closed well late to miss. CREATIVE CAUSE forwardly placed off the inside, moved out a bit on the backstretch, maintained his position while in the three path on the second turn but lodged only a mild late bid. DULLAHAN outrun after being bumped at the start, commenced his rally off the inside on the second turn, swung to the outside for the drive and made a late gain. TAKE CHARGE INDY steadied along the inside once in the first turn, raced within reach along the inside, maintained good position to the final furlong but tired late. CRUSADE bumped and forced in at the start, was outrun early, moved up along the inside with three furlongs to go but could not threaten. FORT LOUDON forwardly placed four wide, moved in a path on the backstretch, held on to the stretch and gave way. OPTIMIZER sluggish at the start, angled to the inside on the first turn, moved off the rail on the backstretch, made progress on the second turn but tired in the drive. SPEIGHTSCITY closest to the pace in the three path, moved in a bit before a half, maintained his position to the stretch and faded. DRILL bore in at the start and bumped CRUSADE into DULLAHAN, was angled out into the first turn and never menaced. ALPHA fractious in the gate, raced within striking distance for a half three wide and stopped. DADDY LONG LEGS three wide on the first turn when outrun, never reached contention. PROSPECTIVE three wide early, maintained his position four wide on the second turn but stopped.

DROSSELMEYER unhurried while outrun and four wide, accelerated when asked after seven furlongs, came six wide into the stretch and closed with a late burst of speed to be clear. GAME ON DUDE set the early pace in the three path, moved in a bit entering the second turn, responded when headed with three furlongs to go, battled into the final furlong, drew clear with a sixteenth to go and held on stubbornly. RULER ON ICE bumped at the start, was outrun along the inside while unhurried, advanced along the inside on the second turn, angled out in midstretch and closed well. HAVRE DE GRACE bumped with HEADACHE approaching the first turn, raced within striking distance four wide, moved closer in that path on the second turn, drifted out in midstretch then made a good late gain. FLAT OUT reserved off the rail, angled out four wide with three furlongs to go, altered course in midstretch when HAVRE DE GRACE drifted out, recovered and made a late gain. SO YOU THINK (NZ) bumped at the start, recovered, tracked the leaders three wide, angled in in mid stretch for a clear path, made a run at the leader with a furlong to go but weakened. TO HONOR AND SERVE steadied approaching the first turn between rivals, recovered to be close up and four wide, challenged in that path with three furlongs to go, raced with the pace to the final furlong and tired. ICE BOX outrun for six furlongs, swung seven wide entering the stretch and finished with late interest. RATTLESNAKE BRIDGE trailed for a mile off the inside and could not threaten. UNCLE MO prompted the pace four wide, gained a short lead between rivals with three furlongs to go, held on well to midstretch and faded. STAY THIRSTY close up three wide, held on well for a mile and gave way. HEADACHE bumped with HAVRE DE GRACE early, raced within striking distance thereafter, was five wide on the second turn, steadied when FLAT OUT altered course then faded.
