CANNON MAN settled behind the dueling leaders to the turn, launched a rally after passing the three-furlong pole to pull even with the leaders three-wide at the top of the stretch, battled briefly with MAN'S CHOICE to mid-stretch, then pulled clear in the final furlong under steady handling. MAN'S CHOICE moved up to engage ROCKET LAUNCHER and dueled through the turn, briefly matched the bid of CANNON MAN in upper stretch but proved no match late, kept on well to save the place. ATLAS FALLS under a hard ride from the start, dropped back to last after a level beginning, moved to the rail for the run through the turn, then rallied to gain third. ROCKET LAUNCHER hustled to the lead, was soon joined by MAN'S CHOICE up the inside, dueled that rival through the turn, weakened in upper stretch then had little to offer in the late stages. TEQUILA FLATS was off slowly, then hustled forward in an attempt to regain contact with the rest but never got involved.

BETTER HALF raced three-wide through the early stage, always traveling the best of the trio contesting the early lead, took command into the turn, opened up approaching the quarter pole, then drew away under a mild hand ride. EARLY BLOOMER vied between horses early, then was left to chase BETTER HALF through the turn but proved no match, kept on well to hold second. SARAH JANE was outrun by the other three entrants from the break, stayed close, but could not generate a late threat. ROCKY CHANNEL was the inside horse in the early pace battle, dropped out before the turn, then was not a factor in the late stages.

HUSHEMUP settled two-wide in the second pair, was never a serious threat, but made a late rally to gain the place. LITTLE MUSIC moved up to put some pressure on ANTHONYS SPICE heading into the turn, was rebuffed at the quarter pole, then weakened in the stretch and lost the place. BEL ARIA chased inside with the second group, then lacked a rally. SYLLABUS dropped back to last after the starr and was never a factor.

STELLAR VINO was not asked for speed from the break but was always close up racing along the rail, became boxed in through the whole of the far turn, then burst clear through an opening at the top of the stretch and went clear of the rest in the late stages. STICKY NOTE settled well behind the main group but ahead of BOURBON STATE through the early running, made a three-wide bid on the far turn, then finished up well to just get up for second while never a threat to the winner. BOURBON STATE off slow, then was the distant trailer through the early stages, saved ground, then made a nice late bid up the rail, was outfinished for the place. CAPO LUIGI was quick to the front, got inside position, but had to battle two other rivals on the early pace, dug in when set down near the quarter pole but was unable to last, kept on with good courage, but missed hitting the board. GOD OF WINE settled three-to-four wide through the first half-mile, made a middle move into and through the far turn to reach contention near the quarter pole, bid five-wide then flattened out in upper stretch. CATALINA CAT raced in the middle of a three-way battle for the early pace, held position to the stretch, then tired. TALKSCHEAP vied three-wide to the far turn then weakened in the stretch.

ZIGGZAPPA settled well behind the dueling leaders through the first half, moved closer heading into the far turn, then powered past COULDYOUBELOVED in upper stretch and went clear and unchallenged to the wire. PEACOCK ROAD raced at the head of the trailing group, well off the early pace, launched a bid near the three-furlong pole and made a sustained run to the wire to gain the second spot. COULDYOUBELOVED showed good speed from the outside post, dueled with ICE QUEEN through the early stages, then separated from that one midway on the far turn to go clear from the field, started to shorten strides in mid-stretch from earlier efforts and was unable to last, kept on well enough to save third. SWEET ENCHANTMENT lagged at the back of the field early, started to run on with a grinding rally from the seven-eighths marker and was mildly gaining in the stretch while never a serious threat. NO SHOW settled near the rear, then managed some mild improvement in the late stages. Q BOND lacked any early speed and was unable to muster a rally. ICE QUEEN broke well, dueled with COULDYOUBELOVED from the start to the far turn, gave way readily midway through that turn and was not a factor in the late stages. RANCH LIFE raced alone in the middle of the pack between groups, then weakened on the far turn and unable to threaten.

YOURGLORIOUSDAYLIS won the calvary charge into the first turn emerged on to the backstretch with a clear lead, was under a rating hold with LOW MOON on the flank to the outside, dug in when that rival upped the pressure on the far turn, then responded to strong handling in the stretch to hold clear from that rival to the wire. LOW MOON got caught wide into the first turn then moved up to a stalking position two-deep down the backstretch, made a try for the lead midway on the far turn but was unable to vanquish YOURGLORIOUSDAYLIS on the lead, had every chance in the stretch but had trouble changing leads, hung, and had to settle for second. JUSTIFIABLE STAR tracked mid-pack through the early stages, finished up well but was unable to find the winning late kick. EVALINA settled near the back of the pack, saved ground and finished with some interest while never a serious threat. HELLO ANGEL was unhurried early, settled near the back of the pack, then lacked a rally. ACTION PLAYER went three or four wide in the scramble into the first turn, turned onto the backstretch in second position but started to retreat late on the backstretch, fell far behind and was not persevered with when hopelessly beaten.

RAISON KARTER was sent hard from the break but caught six-wide into the clubhouse turn, tracked 3-wide in the second flight to the far turn, launched a bid from the three-furlong pole, then dueled with AMERICAN PURE int the stretch, gained a slight advantage in mid-stretch then gamely held off an inside rival through the final furlong under strong handling. GUCCI MAN settled in the second flight behind the pace battle, made a strong bid up the inside in the stretch but was bested by the winner. EL FRANCO settled in the back with the third flight through the early stages, made a strong middle move on the far turn to gain contention at the top of the stretch, came under the crop, finished up well to gain third but could not get to the top pair. AMERICAN PURE got caught four-wide into the first turn, them moved up to join JURA and another foe on the lead, raced between horses down the backstretch, put a head in front going into the far turn, then was joined by RAISON KARTER to the outside, dueled that rival late through the turn and into the stretch, before giving way in the final furlong. COACH CAMPBELL void of speed, was far back through the early stages, then circled the field four-wide on the far turn, improved, but lacked a finishing kick. NO PROOF hustled from the start, then ceded the lead on the first turn, steadily lost position down the backstretch and lacked a late bid. JURA was reluctant to load, then hustled away at the start, gained command coming out of the first turn, was joined by a pair of rivals to the outside for the run down the backstretch, then weakened midway on the turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch. OUT WORK'N was hard to load, vied three-wide for the early lead to the quarter pole, then stopped in the stretch.

HOLY ALIMONY broke out and bumped the outside rival at the start, went to the front without much effort to take the early lead, dictated reasonable fractions without getting much pressure, responded when set down near the five-sixteenths marker, battled a game RULOOKINFORRAYRAY through the stretch and just held on under strong handling and urging. RULOOKINFORRAYRAY broke well, settled in a stalking position through the early stages, crept close approaching the far turn, waited for room along the rail through that turn, then snuck up the inside, dueled with HOLY ALIMONY the length of the stretch to the wire but could not get by. GIBRAN broke in, made light contact wtih MISSIONARY MAN, then was allowed to settled from the break, pulled to be up close just behind HOLY ALIMONY on the lead, joined midway down the backstretch by RULOOKINFORRAYRAY, moved to challenge for the lead approaching the quarter pole, was unable to quicken with the top two but kept on well to hold third. DABOOM broke best but taken back after the start, settled inside in the middle of the field under a strong hold, waited for room through the far turn, then finished up well but was outkicked in the final yards. GOODMENARESCARCE was away awkwardly, then lost the path when MISSIONARY MAN cut over, held up behind horses into the first turn, was being coaxed along up the rail on the backstretch run, swung four-wide into the stretch, finished willingly but was unable find the needed late kick. ROMANTIC LEAD settled mid-pack, advanced into contention under a drive on the far turn, then flattened out in the stretch. MISSIONARY MAN forced in at the start, bothered foe, was unhurried, raced at the rear of the pack, started a forward move into the turn, bid three-four wide into the stretch but was outfinished. SIR THOMAS TEAL off slow and bumped at the break, was caught wide into the first turn, was mid-pack partway down the backstretch then struggled to keep up as the field entered the far turn and was badly outrun in the late stages. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
