KNOTTY KITTY settled four-wide well off the early pace, started a forward move after passing the three-furlong pole, lugged out in upper stretch, then got straightened out in the final furlong and surged late, closed in on the leader and was just up. GOLD MESA jumped out to the early lead, crossed over to the rail before the five-furlong pole, maintained a clear lead through the turn, tried to slip away leaving the quarter pole, got a little short in the final yards, and was tagged at the wire. SPEAKER BABY tracked along the rail while under a bit of a hold, came out to the two-path through the turn, was under a drive approaching the quarter pole, swung three wide into the stretch, and finished up well but was not quite good enough. CHIP ALTERNATIVE showed little interest after the break and had to be coaxed along by the rider to get back into the race, chased the field into the turn, kept to the inside, managed to outfinish a couple of tired rivals, and just missed grabbing the minor award. WITT'S DUBAI GAL rushed up to join the early pace mix but had to steady when GOLD MESA crossed the path, tracked three-wide, then was under a ride midway through the turn and flattened out in the lane. LA VONDA SECURITY raced three to four wide early on, then was outfinished in the stretch..

BONFIGLIO hopped at the start, moved briskly through the field on the backstretch run to make the lead before the far turn, was in full command at the top of the stretch, then held off a late bid from MCGINNIS in the final yards. MCGINNIS raced close up two-wide, followed BONFIGLIO into the far turn, chased gamely down the stretch, could not reel in that rival but finished well clear of the next horse. OBAN raced three-wide throughout and finished with mild interest. EL CHAVO tracked behind the pace to the far turn, then was outfinished in the late stages. FOLLOW THE STAR hustled away to vie three-wide for the lead into the first turn, dueled outside of SIR TOM down the backstretch, left that rival behind leaving the three-furlong pole, briefly led near the three-furlong pole but was overtaken by BONFIGLIO, tried to battle back into the stretch but weakened in the final furlong and faded. COASTAL WARRIOR got caught four-wide on the clubhouse turn, tracked in the middle of the field, lost ground on the far turn, and did not have a finishing kick. GOOD NIGHT AMERICA brought up the rear to the far turn, then passed tired foes in the stretch. . ESSENTIAL STORM came under early cropping after leaving the gate, settled in mid-pack two or three paths off the rail, then dropped off the pace passing the three-furlong pole and was not a factor in the late stages. SIR TOM dueled to the inside of FOLLOW THE STAR, weakened with three furlongs to run, and had little to offer in the stretch.

YODA WINNER got bounced around between rivals shortly after the start, gave an even effort but was never a serious threat. BAKER HAYFIELD was bumped hard after the start, nearly unseating the rider, settled near the back early, advanced up the backstretch, went three-wide through the far turn, put in a good run down the stretch, and was up in the final jumps. EXPO CITY hesitated, then took a slight hop at the break, got caught two or three wide turning from the chute onto the main course, raced close up then bid three-wide into the stretch, got a head in front late but was unable to last. TYLER'S TURN was unhurried at the back early, got bottled up on the far turn, but ran on in the late stages once clear, and managed to claim the third prize. UPTONO BUENA settled in mid-pack, kept to the inside paths, and was mildly closing the gap in the late stages. ETERNAL MISCHIEF raced between rivals in the second flight, then weakened in deep stretch. FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER broke off-balance, tracked three-wide early, came into the stretch on the wrong lead and faltered. WITHERING GAZE got shut off by the outside rival at the start, steadied and spotted the field a head start, raced three-wide throughout and chased near the back. LEXI'S COMEBACK ducked in sharply after the start, taking out the two inside rivals, was three wide as the field turned on to the main course, chased close up to the runaway leader through the early stages, then faltered in the stretch.
