INDIGO PASS broke slowly, then advanced outside into contention on the backside, bid three wide on the turn and tired. NEW CENTSATION bumped at the start, stalked close up between rivals, chased on the turn and gave way.

MIDNITE GINNY quickly showed in front, set the pace racing near the inside, responded when challenged on the turn, turned back a bid from CLARIVIDENTE, drew clear, pulled away in the stretch, then was taken in hand late. QUALITY OF ESSENCE raced off the rail, off the pace, chased inside on the turn, angled out, raced a bit greenly between horses at the furlong marker and rallied mildly for third. BETTER WITH VINO chased close up inside, chased on the turn and lacked a rally. LAST FLAG FLYING chased two wide, chased on the turn and tired. SHIP OF FOOLS was off a bit slow and outrun.

UNSOLVED MYSTERY dueled three wide for the early lead, took over on the turn, responded when roused, dug in gamely in the final furlong, dueled outside of JUST LIKE YOU in deep stretch and narrowly held on. STRONG LIGHT was off slowly, outrun early, moved up two wide on the backside, chased three wide on the far turn and lacked a stretch rally. AINT NO JOKE stalked the early pace, then tracked on the inside, chased inside on the far turn and weakened. MAGICAL ROAD raced off the pace inside, was asked on the far turn and lacked a response. THREE CAPTAINS was moving just prior to the gate opening, reared up badly at the start and lost the rider, then walked off. After a Stewards' Inquiry into the start, the race was declared official.
