HAPPY VALENTINE was well placed on the rail behind the frontrunner down the backside, sat poised, waiting to move on the fence behind the leader on the turn, angled out three wide between horses with run in upper stretch and had a good late charge but could not get to the winner in time. NAUGHTY DESTINY determinedly pressed the issue on the outside down the backside and throughout the turn, had the four path in the hunt straightening out for home, finished up one paced unable to go with the top pair late and ran on well enough to be a clear but non threatening third in the end. WILDFIRE had a outside tracking position in mid-pack, kept pace with the leaders while going three wide on the oval, shifted out widest in the six path at the top of the lane and finished up evenly to hold for a minor award. ALA TURKA had a sluggish start seeing the group in the early stages, passed a rival outside by the three furlong marker, moved to the three path for the stretch run but lacked a rally down the lane. MI TORMENTA was unhurried near the rear down the backside only ahead of the troubled starter, could see the group at the three eighths pole saving all the ground on the bend and failed to fire on the fence in the drive to the wire.

SHINING SILVER travelled well in hand moving to the lead on the fence to take control by the five eighths pole, dictated terms moving confidently through the turn, opened up when nudged for more in mid-stretch and cruised home for the score. CLOSING APPEAL broke a step slow then was allowed to settle into stride getting off the fence while at the back of the pack, began to make a move circling three wide around foes at the three furlong pole, gathered more momentum four wide with a quarter mile to run, shifted to the six path for clear run in upper stretch and closed in smartly in the final furlong to be a solid second best behind the runaway winner. NAKEDINTHEFOREST was in the fray up top three deep watching the leader, began to edge closer moving three wide outside the front twosome on the turn posing a threat by the quarter pole, angled out four wide with rivals on either side fighting up top at the head of the lane, could not reel in the long gone winner by the furlong marker and was just outdueled by an outside foe late for the place share. HOPE SHE FIRES had a good spot on the rail watching the lead trio down the backside and around the turn, shifted just off the fence for the stretch run but could only finish up evenly to settle on the fringes. BUTTERFLY BILLIE had a stalking trip on the inside early on, tried to commence a rail run but lacked running room from the five sixteenths pole to the quarter marker stuck behind horses, shifted out with a furlong to go but could not get involved late. STRIKE A NOTE pressed the issue between horses down the backside, continued between foes chasing the pacesetter coming under a ride by the quarter pole, shifted to the three path inside of rivals in upper stretch in with a chance but faded on the fence in the last sixteenth of a mile. DANCIN MARY MARIE settled in mid-division with foes on each side, was hard ridden but going the wrong way through the turn and had little to offer in the three path for the stretch running. PIPINNA travelled on the outside in the middle of the pack, retreated in the three path between runners in midturn and emptied out in upper stretch five wide.

ROCK HARD ROSE was away alertly for the early advantage at the break, took back to watch the contesting duo while three deep along the back straight, sat all alone measuring the front twosome around the bend, skimmed the fence closing in at the top of the lane and edged away in deep stretch for the win. CITORI began to lengthen stride soon after the start to take control inside foes by the five eighths pole, rolled along loose on the engine around the oval, shifted to the two path holding on in upper stretch, began to get weary at the furlong pole drifting out with a diminishing lead, could not fend off the winner inside when switching back to the incorrect lead late but did gut it out to save for the place share outside a rival in the end. MIGHT BEE TROUBLE settled on the rail in midfield, began to pick up the bit shifting out at the five sixteenths marker, moved to the four path making a run and finished up willingly moving inside a runner late just missing out for the battle for place at the finish line. GRETNA GREEN prompted the pace between down the backstretch, chased the loose pacesetter in vain throughout the turn making little headway, shifted to the three path in with a chance for a piece of the prize at the top of the stretch but evened out late for a minor role. ZIPPY GAMBLE was void of early foot seeing the group down the backside, lagged well behind throughout the turn but did show some late interest on the outside to catch the stablemate in the shadow of the wire for a position. ZIPFIRE had a stalking role ahead of only one rival in the beginning, took the short way around the bend but was making little progression, scraped paint turning for home but could not factor in the late running.

CHIPOTLE PEPPER tossed its head on the break, recovered quickly to skirt away for the lead into the backstretch, set an even tempo well in control up top around the bend, opened up again disposing of the brief challenger in mid-stretch and won convincingly when crossing the finish line. ONDINE LADY broke out on the start, travelled on the outside of another in the second flight behind the pacesetter, moved in to make a bid on the winner outside by the quarter pole, could not match strides by the furlong pole up top but held on tough in late stages to hold for the runners up share. GREY PRINCESS was well back in the beginning ahead of only the very troubled runner in the early going, took the shortest way around the oval narrowing the margin but not gaining any position, mounted a rally three wide between foes in upper stretch and kept on fighting until the very end trying to get up late for the place share but had to settle for the show in the end. PICKFORD SWEET had an outside stalking trip down the back straight, made little progression outside another two wide through the bend, shifted out five wide for the stretch drive and finished up mildly to settle on the fringes at the wire. SLOANS SKY had the rail position in the middle of the pack, was roused to go after the lead three when under encouragement right-handed on the turn at the quarter pole making little headway and gave way in the four path by mid-stretch. CANDID CANDACE reared up right when the gates opened up losing all chance on the break, trailed the field down the backside and throughout the turn but did show a little run to pick a weary one in the stretch drive. GAMBLE ON LOVE was content tracking the frontrunner between foes in the early going, was under a snug hold sitting behind the pacesetter by the half, could not offer a response when called on for more at the five sixteenths pole and faltered inside horses down the lane. STEWARD'S INQUIRY REGARDING THE BREAK WAS DEEMED THAT #6 CANDID CANDICE REARED UP BUT DID RECEIVE A FAIR START

THUNDERMAKER promptly moved clear to set the pace, sat chilly with a comfortable advantage till leaving the turn, was asked in upper stretch, held sway under steady handling. IMYOURMEDICINEMAN settled off the pace stalking from outside, was encouraged along past the three-eighths advancing three to four wide, fought on besting the inside runners to garner the place without threatening the winner late. LEAN MUSIC MACHINE chased the eventual winner from off the rail, vied between foes in the stretch for minor awards and kept on to get show honors. WILD CARD was forwardly-positioned tracking the eventual winner from inside, saved ground on the turn, was in range in the stretch but outkicked for the placings. LONNY'S GAMBLE shifted in advancing inside foes but off the fence into and on the turn, was unable to threaten. DIGITAL SECURITY broke just a bit awkwardly, lacked early speed and passed a couple tired ones. STRATUS raced outside off the pace four wide, floated six to eight deep in the stretch, failed to menace. BALBONI'S CREW bobbled just slightly at the start, moved forward chasing between foes into the turn and was encouraged along on that bend, came out five then seven wide for the drive, made no bid.

PARAMOUNT PRINCE was away alertly having the advantage on the outside of horses in the beginning, cleared off to the rail by the half, travelled well within himself cruising loose on the lead around the turn setting an even pace, maintained control just being nudged along in upper stretch and pulled away with ease when tapped on just the shoulder at the furlong pole to win comfortably for the gate to wire score. MANSETTI rated kindly tracking behind the frontrunner down the backside, continued to sit behind the speed waiting the cue to move around the turn, angled out posing the only threat two wide in upper stretch, could not match strides with the overpowering winner at the furlong pole and finished up well enough to easily best the rest for the runners up share in the end. RAPID TEST had the rear on the fence with the field compact early down the backstretch, kept pace staying in range of the frontrunner while travelling on the rail saving ground on the bend, moved to the four path gathering momentum at the top of the lane and closed belatedly for a clear third at the finish line. ESSEX SERPENT broke a touch slow to have a stalking role between foes in the beginning stages, began to move when scrubbed on three wide at the midway point of the turn, rallied four wide at the quarter marker reaching for more ground, was carried out by the inside foe to be in the seven path for the stretch run and lacked a finish outside of rivals in the late going. STANLEY HOUSE improved outside horses along the backside to be prompting the pace by the half, came under a ride unable to gain on the winner through the turn, drifted out considerably when straightening out for home six wide and faltered between foes in the final furlong.

QUADRUPLE (GB) bobbled slightly trailing after the break, improved smartly gaining inside position on the rail by the half nestled in midfield, sat behind the contesting duo on the rail waiting for the cue in midturn, lacked running room two wide behind the tiring leaders at the head of the lane, shifted out getting clear run three wide at the furlong pole and finished up willingly to be a non threatening third. MS. BUCCHERO pulled the rider to the lead by mid-backstretch on the fence setting the pace, maintained a slim advantage early on the turn, had company outside when collared by the quarter pole, did not switch leads through the drive but did fight it out inside rivals nonetheless and held on for a minor placing at the finish. AMERICAN WOMEN broke out on the start, travelled three deep outside two others being part of the early pace, moved up confidently outside to take control getting a head in front on the outside by the quarter pole, had the two path clinging up top between foes with a furlong still remaining but tired in the final furlong. BRINDI (IRE) was in the mix in the beginning between horses, came under a busy ride but could not keep up to rivals on either side retreating midway on the turn and had little left for the drive wilting in upper stretch.

MILITARY TIME was well-positioned stalking from outside, received mild encouragement at the five-sixteenths, asked for more coming to the top of the stretch making a bid soon after, lugged in about a furlong from home with the lead, continued to draw away. MARSHAL got away well, set the pace shifting in, was shadowed on the turn and challenged coming to the top of the stretch, overtaken in upper stretch and was put in tight quarters altering outside the new leader past the furlong marker, could not match strides with that rival and was second best. GOLDEN TRUTH pulled a bit inside moving forward despite restraint heading up the backstretch, angled five wide leaving the turn, kept on in the lane and was best of the rest. DEPUTY CURLIN settled off the pace, advanced outside foes four wide on the turn while ridden along from the five-sixteenths, floated six wide into upper stretch, came in a bit through the drive and ran on. LOUIS THE CHAMP switched out off the rail up the backstretch settling off the pace, was in a bit tight quarters between and behind foes midway up the straight, swung seven wide turning for home, passed a couple tired rivals. YLIVOIMAINEN was up close early, continued to stalk from off the fence, asked for more by the five-sixteenths but failed to rally. FLIRTING WITH FIRE switched out and moved forward chasing three to four wide mid-pack, was under urging by the three-eighths, faded in the stretch. MAD WORLD shifted in early, raced at the back near the inside and was never close enough to threaten. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE TRAINER OF MARSHAL AGAINST MILITARY TIME ALLEGING INTERFERENCE, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.

LORRAINE'S BEAUTY was patiently handled sitting just off the early leader poised to make a move, continued outside to hound the frontrunner through the turn, pounced three wide at the top of the lane, grinded away fighting on the outside at the furlong marker and prevailed in the stretch duel edging away for the win in the late going. TOP OF D MOUNTAIN kept a close eye on the lead duo while sitting on the fence down the backside, chased the embattled twosome on the turn making little gain, shifted to the four path for the drive finding her best stride late and closed in with seventy yards to go getting up for the runners up share. CALL ME KAYKAY had the lead outside rivals trying to get to the rail early on, cleared off getting to the fence up top by the half under a snug hold, was nursed along on the engine in the turn while hounded outside by the winner with five sixteenths remaining, held a slim advantage inside at the top of the lane, battled on stubbornly until the sixteenth pole but needed more when giving way for the top spot in deep stretch. BEACH CRICKET shared the rear while inside another with a half mile still to run, advanced mildly just off the rail throughout the turn, moved out to the six path at the top of the lane and finished up well enough to be a fringe player in the end. BERMUDA BREW co-trailed on the outside at the half, offered a brief turn of foot circling four wide around horses at the five sixteenths pole, swung out widest in the eight path for the stretch drive and could only pass a tiring runner while on the inside in the late going. BERTHA settled in midpack outside another in the four path along the backside, improved slightly when roused at the three furlong pole, shifted seven wide between foes at the top of the lane but faded in the final eighth of a mile. RELOAD BABA had a stalking trip near the rear ahead of a couple of rivals down the backside, came under a ride on the fence but could not keep up to the pack, hugged the rail turning for home but failed to menace in the drive to the wire. BLUE'S MOMMY had the rail in the middle of the pack with a half still to run, had the fence dropping back to last on the turn by the three furlong pole and could not be a factor in the stretch running.
