Saturday BC Selections

Halloween is whistling though the autumn air as seasonal colors are falling from the trees. If Breeders' Cup were held in Kentucky, this is a glimpse of what you could expect to enjoy. - Southern California / Del Mar prepares the throngs of fans with jacket weather with no rain in the forecast. - Wherever you wager, enjoy the races and best of luck from Winning Ponies.
Filly and Mare Sprint
Hope Road = She has faced off against Kopion but will not lock horns today as she has opted to face the boys in the Sprint. She should be pressing just off the leaders and seeking to establish dominance in the final furlong. Winning the G1 Ballerina is a good prep for this race and will be a major factor to deal with in here from the Baffert barn.
Turf Sprint
Reef Runner = Cuts back in distance after winning 6 1/2 on the downhill at Santa Anita in the Eddie D. She's won over the course and with all the pace she should relish the final furlong.
Sprint
Kopion = Daughter of Omaha Beach has been away for three months and came back with a bullet work of a smoking 33.1 - Mike Smith takes over and will have to overcome the rail post, but she likes the oval going 2/2 ITM.
Distaff
Scottish Lassie = Daughter of McKinzie exits a troubled race in the G1 Cotillion at Parx. Speed favoring track and once she shook loose her late run was a day late and a dollar short as the beaten chalk. Look for a clean trip and a fast closing effort.
Turf
Minnie Hauk = Daughter of Frankel (GB) has been doing extremely well in Europe. 2nd start off a layoff for Christophe Soumillion. Hails from the Aiden O'Brien yard and was a fast closing 2nd in the Arc. 65% of the Euros have won this race over the years.
Classic
Forever Young = Japanese bred and had that troubled trip in the Kentucky Derby.
