PARADISE VALLEY brushed with a foe at the start, was urged along at the rear, angled from the rail to the four path on the turn, was driven into the stretch in the five path and finished willingly to just get the place. RUSSI chased the pace on the inside of an opponent, dropped back between horses late on the backstretch, went around the turn in the two then three path, was driven into the stretch in the four path and also finished willingly but just missed the place but narrowly earned the show. TYPHOON FURY was hustled from the gate, moved up to dispute the pace on the outside, went clear in the two path at the seven-sixteenths pole then dropped to the inside, was asked near the quarter-pole then lost the advantage into upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened. ASLEEP AT EIGHT brushed with a foe at the start then was hustled, contested the pace on the inside of a rival, dropped back at the seven-sixteenths pole, lost more ground on the leader while saving ground on the turn, moved out under a drive in the stretch and kept on but missed the superfecta.

FIFI LA FUME chased seven paths off the inside down the backstretch and then five wide through the turn, went five to six wide into upper stretch and weakened. WILL OF A WOMANNE chased five paths off the inside down the backstretch and then three wide through the turn under encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, tired.

NABOKOV showed speed then tracked the pace on the outside, moved from the three path to the two path early on the turn, was roused late on that bend, made a bid in the three path into upper stretch, took the lead into the final furlong and held under strong urging. PRINCIP was urged along towards the rear, moved in near the nine-sixteenths pole, rounded the turn in the two then three path, turned into the stretch in the six path and closed with good energy but missed while able to get the place. AMUSING MISCHIEF was ridden along off the pace, saved ground on the turn, came off the rail under a drive inside the three-sixteenths pole then dropped back to the fence and lacked the needed kick. GRAYWING showed speed and set the pace, vied inside on the turn, was roused near the quarter-pole, turned into the stretch in the two path, lost the advantage to the winner into the final furlong and weakened. DIVINE LEADER was urged along on the outside, dropped from the four path to the three path early on the turn, came out to the five path into the stretch and lacked the needed response. EMERALD FOREST dropped back to the rear of the field under urging, raced in the three path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the five path then moved in and was no factor.
