ONACOUNTA was rated three wide, gained position through the turn, sustained a rally down the lane to be up in the final yards. PLAY TWENTY quickly claimed a ground saving lead, led uncontested through the turn and upper stretch, flattened out along the left lead in the final furlong to give way late. ROCK THE BIRDHOUSE was rated along the inside, got checked back approaching the quarter pole, angled out to the four path at the top of the stretch, rallied well to earn the show award. SCRAPPY PATCH opted to be the early trailer, improved along the inside of the stretch. JUST AT MIDNIGHT chased the pace setter in the two path, weakened in the stretch. MORNING LINE NEWS settled off the pace, trailed by the three sixteenths.

SHORTSTOP settled off the pace in the four path, shifted in towards the inside at the half to save ground through the turn, took charge in the upper stretch and kicked away to be much the best. MAN OF QUALITY advanced along the inside to vie for command through the turn with INSTASTAR, claimed a brief lead at the top of the stretch before giving way to SHORTSTOP, no match for the winner, held for the place award. RECAUSE got squeezed back at the half mile marker, trailed through the turn, rallied well along the inside of the stretch but missed second. IMA CHUNKY MONKEY tracked the pace four wide in the early stages, settled off the pace before the turn, found best stride late to make some minor improvements. INSTASTAR was away alertly to claim early command, met an inside bid from MAN OF QUALITY at the half, vied with the lead through the turn until surrendering at the three sixteenths, weakened down the stretch. TIME TO TOAST was checked back shortly after the start, chased the dueling leaders through the turn, entered the stretch in the four path but weakened along his inside lead. GONNA PICK DOMENIC never factored. JOCKEY'S OBJECTION LODGED BY RECAUSE ON SHORTSTOP CLAIMING INTERFERENCE AT THE HALF MILE MARKER WAS DISALLOWED BY THE STEWARDS.

BUREAU opted to be the early trailer, closed in through the turn and swung out six wide at the top of the stretch, drove past the field to take charge by the sixteenth. AMERICAN WARRIOR was allowed to settle off the pace, advanced to enter the stretch close up to the pace, had no room in the upper stretch until making an inside bid at the final furlong, got the bob for the place honors. WILDWOOD RUBEN stalked pace in the early stages between foes, backed off in the turn and repositioned along the inside, made an inside bid at the top of the stretch, couldn't sustain bid and gave way at the sixteenth. DUST DANCER set a pressured pace from just off the rail, met bids from both sides at the top of the stretch, gave way and weakened along his left lead. ON THE MONEY RED stalked the early pace three wide, retreated in the stretch. BILL'S HONOR tracked the pace four wide, faded in the final furlong. WE MISS ARLINGTON was forwardly placed between runners, lacked a response to the riders encouragement and retreated.

VOLODYMYR Z quickly claimed an uncontested lead, opened up even more through the turn, saddle appeared to slip in the upper stretch, drove away, clearly best. PLAYGROUND WARRIOR chased the pace throughout, held for the place honors. STANCE settled off the pace along the inside, entered the stretch in the four path and rallied well for the show award. TRUIST was rated in the three path, lacked a bid. SOMETHINTOBELIEVEN was rated on the inside, found best stride late. ILLINI RED found early placement around the middle of the pack, was cued through the turn but came up empty in the stretch. LAST RETURN got shuffled back at the start, raced off the pace, made no impact. BABY I'M HAMMERED trailed throughout, no factor.
