PARIS CARVER moved up along the inside after the start, tracked the pacesetter early from along the inside, picked up and moved outside that rival into the turn, chased through the turn and into the straight, drifted out a bit in upper stretch, set down, kicked down rival in the late going displaying good resolve. ITALY broke alertly to show the way up the backstretch while just off the inside, extended that advantage into and through the turn, remained clear past the furlong marker then weakened a bit to be run down late, remained well clear of the others. CHARLOTTE'S CAY raced in mid pace early toward the inside, moved out when beginning a mild move midway on the turn, went evenly through the stretch, no match for the top two the final furlong. TAKE HOME GOLD back off the pace, steadied slightly in some traffic midway on the turn, also went one paced through the lane. MIND BOGGLING broke back, lacked speed, saved ground into the stretch, improved position without making a major impact. INTRICITY forwardly placed for three furlongs while pursuing the top pair, retreated through the stretch. LADY OF TROY broke back and did not threaten. DARK BLUE WATER unruly in the post parade and briefly reluctant to load, last to leave, trailed, came widest for the drive and gpicked off a couple of tiring rivals while never a factor. MO VITA was finished early while racing off the inside. ARIA D broke with the leaders, raced briefly forward while outside before beginning a steady fade before three furlongs.

BRAVE BEAR broke on top, showed the way into the first turn just off the inside, rated in the run up the backstretch while setting some soft fractions, continued in hand far turn, let out a not turning for home and drew out to be well clear at the end. MAX'S GLORY in the second flight while within striking distance three wide through the first turn, continued to stalk the middle half while remaining in the three path, along for the second spot late while not a threat to the winner. KNOX behind the winner into the first bend, moved out and went after that one before a half, pressed into the far turn, came under pressure soon after, failed to match strides with that same rival into the stretch, caught late for the runner up spot. MYSTIC NIGHT prompted the winner early off the inside, closest to the dueling leaders late backstretch, dropped inside through the final turn, went one paced through the lane in lacking a late punch. BEAN MACHINE back off the pace and the inside, four wide into the lane, also lacked a closing response. DOCTOR DOOM last away while between horses, trailed most of the way and was never a factor. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE also raced back and had nothing for the stretch drive.

OZARA (IRE) tracked the leader from along the inside and under a light hold the first five furlongs, moved out a bit in the second turn, advanced on the pacesetter when straightened for home, engaged that rival from the outside with less than a furlong remaining and wore that foe down under firm handling. LONG AGO (GB) took control from the outside exiting the chute, set a clear pace after moving toward the inside, continued to hold a daylight advantage upper stretch, responded when confronted by the winner inside the furlong grounds and proved stubborn until late. SHOTGUN WEDDING behind the pace while along the inside, continued to save ground through the second turn to cut the corner into the lane, could do little with the top two the final furlong, fully extended to save the show. BRISBANE (FR) void of early foot after breaking a step slow, continued unhurried in the run up the backstraight, began to advance late in the final bend, swung wide into the stretch losing some momentum, picked it up a bit past the furlong marker to better position a bit and miss the show. MO FOX GIVIN settled in mid pack while off the inside, lacked a closing kick. HOLA GATA prompted the runner up from the outside and gave way when the real running began late in the final turn.

QUALITY OF ESSENCE off a step slow, lagged early in trailing, swung widest out of the when advancing, reached the front under confident handling nearing the furlong marker and drew clear under confident handling to win ridden out. SEEKING SERENITY broke on top, dueled up front off the inside, vied between horses in midstretch while inside the winner, proved no match for that one in the run to the wire, clearly second best. MO PROBABLE moved up to duel inside the runner up in the run up the backstretch, continued to alternate through the turn, first to blink when straightened for home. ROMELIA bobbled slight at the break, moved up to the second group just off the inside, went one paced throughout in lacking a closing response. ICECREAM WITH PHIL in the second flight while three wide for a half, faltered in the drive. LUCIANA also bobbled slightly at the start, gave way from between horses in the turn and trailed home well back.
