KATISCHUO contested the early pace between rivals, dueled for command with BROTHER PAUL into the far turn, raced on even terms with that foe into the stretch, was outfinished into the final sixteenth and held safely for second. BROTHER PAUL broke alertly, led from the inside along the first turn then disputed the pace with KATISCHUO through the backstretch, dueled that rival to the quarter marker, raced on even terms to mid-stretch, yielded in the final sixteenth and was well clear for third. BUTTER MAN settled to the first turn, was well placed while tracking into the backstretch, outrun to the quarter pole then came up empty in the stretch drive.

SHOWTIME MATINEE hustled leaving the gate, assumed early command then dictated terms to the turn, set a solid pace to the quarter marker, held foes at bay into upper stretch while off of the rail, kicked clear into the final sixteenth and held sway to the wire. PATERNO stumbled badly at the start and was last away from the gate, advanced outside of rivals into the turn, shifted to the rail into the bend then gained ground nearing the furlong marker, could not make headway on the winner into the final sixteenth but held well late for second. BEJUCO unhurried in the early stages and trailed into the turn, swung widest to upper stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth and just missed for second, while holding safely for third. ARTIST MARK prominent early, chased the solid pace into the turn, was held at bay into upper stretch, could not find the needed response in the final furlong and weakened late. BUZZ ADAMS bobbled then squeezed leaving the start, settled in the second flight early on then tracked the solid pace two wide approaching the quarter, chased three wide into the stretch, could not find more into the final sixteenth and flattened out late. ROBERT'S MOON off a bit slowly leaving the start, settled in the second flight early on, dropped back along the turn, saved ground to upper stretch and advanced to the furlong pole but could not threaten the leaders in the final sixteenth.

FOR SOME REASON prominent early, pressed the moderate pace two wide into the turn, took command into upper stretch then drew clear at the furlong marker, kept to task past mid-stretch and was ridden out to the wire. SUNDAY GILT rated nicely in the early stages, tracked the leading pair to the quarter pole, asked three wide to upper stretch, was no match for the winner into the final sixteenth but was a clear second best. BANGKOK BOB settled outside of rivals in the early stages, coaxed three to four wide to the quarter pole, needed more into the lane but stayed on late and gained third. CHAIN REACTION broke out at the start and crowded outer rival, settled between runners in the early stages, coaxed three wide to the quarter marker, angled to the four path for the stretch drive, made a mild late bid but needed more in the final stages. I ONCE STOOD ALONE broke out at the start, settled in the second flight early on, saved ground into the turn and chased to the quarter pole, kept an inside path to upper stretch, shifted to the two path into the final furlong and did not offer the needed late response. HOMETOWN HERO bobbled then was crowded at the start and was last away from the gate, trailed to the turn, navigated traffic while taking dirt into upper stretch, angled widest into the final sixteenth and passed a pair of tired foes late. BOSS HOLIDAY hustled away from the start, vied for the early lead then dueled for pace duties from the inside heading into the turn, disputed the moderate pace to the quarter pole, could not keep pace into the stretch and faded in the final furlong. AARAJ got squeezed a bit at the start and was off a step slowly, recovered and tracked the pace from the second flight heading to the turn, coaxed two wide and between rivals approaching the quarter, lacked the needed response into the stretch and gave way.
