OLIVIA'S MELODY was unhurried seeing the field along the backside, began to pick up the bit passing foes on the rail with a quarter mile from home, was in the thick of things behind the leader in the two path in upper stretch, had to alter course outside lacking clear running room at the furlong pole but could not get to the winner at the finish line. SCAT HUMOR broke inwards on the start, had an inside tracking position with another down the backstretch, assumed control with something amiss with the then frontrunner in midturn, remained up top by a slim margin in upper stretch two wide but could not fend off the winner with a furlong to go and faded late to hold for the show money at the wire. JAPONKA travelled on the outside situated in mid-pack, started to commence a rally three wide between horses at the quarter pole, was pushed out lacking a path six wide at the top of the stretch and finished up mildly to be a fringe player in the end. WUNHAPPY WABBIT was bumped on the outside at the break to trail in the beginning, moved up on the fence along the backstretch, became rank having to be checked when coming up quickly on the tracking tandem at the half mile marker, settled into stride midway around the turn, moved out offering a brief run at the quarter pole, was allowed to drift out to the six path in with a chance for a piece of the prize but failed to fire in the stretch running. BLACK GODDESS had an outside stalking trip settling near the rear, made a strong swooping move beginning at the five sixteenths pole three wide, continued to circle rivals now six wide at the quarter pole, was floated out widest in the eight path turning for home, could not sustain the outside rally and stalled by mid-stretch. AMI'S CRY was loose on the lead under a snug hold along the back straight, dropped back relinquishing the lead midway around the bend, stooped abruptly by the quarter marker, was pulled up in the stretch and walked off.

YORKTON'S HONOUR set the pace facing moderate outside pressure, kicked clear when roused, held. CHAMBERS stalked from outside three to four wide, was under stout urging past the quarter pole, proved no match for the winner, drifted out a bit in late stretch but saved the place. AGILE DANCER lacked early speed racing unhurriedly inside early, was asked to pick it up a bit about the three-eighths, shifted out leaving the turn then angled further in upper stretch, rallied late but just missed second. FRACEN MACHO broke a bit awkwardly and in tight, moved out and advanced outside runners, went three to four wide on the turn still gaining on the leaders, floated six wide into upper stretch, evened out thereafter. COMMANDER WORSLEY chased from inside the second flight, dropped back three furlongs out, came out in the stretch, ran on to pass a rival late. RAPID GREY pressed the eventual winner, faltered and faded. GLOBETROTTING chased from between runners in the second flight, retreated by the seven-sixteenths, shifted in about mid-stretch and ran on.
