HEAVEN'S CHAMPION prompted the issue four deep, was reined in to track the engaged duo outside midway down the backside, had the outside sitting poised outside another watching the lead duo on the turn, moved in closer when roused at the quarter pole, loomed four wide at the top of the lane but was no match for the winner, settled for a clear second best at the finish line. COMMANDER AT SEA was part of the fray up top leaving the gate, edged up to have a slim lead inside at the half mile marker, continued narrowly up front through the turn taking the short way around, was collared outside by the winner in upper stretch, offered no resistance by the furlong marker and faded in deep stretch to hold for the show award. ALPHA KADIN broke slowly then was roused getting better forward position inside at the half tracking the lead duo, edged up on the turn to the front pair to be in the mix two wide straightening out for home but could only finish up evenly in the last furlong to settle for a minor placing. CATHOLIC JACKIE was allowed to settle at the rear with the pack tightly bunched at the half, lagged behind unable to keep up to foes on the bend, skimmed the fence gathering speed at the top of the lane and did show some interest late passing a couple outside rivals in mid-stretch. LONHRO'S GAMBLE travelled four deep stalking outside of horses down the back straight, made little impact going three wide around the turn under a ride, shifted out widest in the five-path turning for home but fail to menace in the stretch running. KNOWING settled just off the rail close to the back end, took the short way around the oval making little headway, angled out to the four path for the stretch run but could not factor in the late drive.
