B AND B'S PULPIT attended the pace toward the inside, got through entering the stretch but failed to make headway through the drive. DEMANDER settled five wide, moved up through the second turn, but flattened in the lane. UNSTOPPABLE COLBY was close up four wide through the second turn and faded. CHAS'S LEGACY broke a bit slow, was unhurried six wide but lacked a response when called upon. ROCKFORD bobbled at the start to get away slow, was shuffled back between rivals and showed little thereafter.

MASOCHISTIC set the pace in about the two path, held a clear advantage under some nudging mid turn, asserted himself in upper stretch and pulled away under a steady hand ride. REEDER prompted the early pace outside the winner, had his heels clipped by GRAND SLAM KID approaching the turn, was under strong urging three wide into the lane, chased while inside two rivals past the eighth pole and kept on willingly to out finish those for the place. A TOUCH OF POETRY was bumped at the break, tracked the pace four wide, moved a bit closer under pressure approaching the quarter pole, pursued between rivals in mid stretch then came up empty. BOSS GONE , four wide in range early, steadied briefly and angled out avoiding the spill entering the far turn, circled five wide making some headway into the lane then flattened out through the final furlong. COASTAL MOON , fractious pre race, hit the gate, chased wide early, checked and made contact with a fallen rival leaving the half mile pole, dropped well off the leader soon after, circled the turn then steadied to avoid a riderless horse entering the stretch. Q TWO saved ground chasing the early pace, checked when avoiding the spill entering the far turn, regrouped to give chase along the rail and gave way. SWIFT HUMOR broke slowly then lost his rider when falling over a fallen rival soon past the half mile marker. RANGER REGIMENT broke outward and bumped with A TOUCH OF POETRY, stalked between runners early then lost his rider when falling over a downed rival entering the far turn. GRAND SLAM KID , bumped early, tracked the early pace, clipped the heels of REEDER nearing the far turn and went down suddenly causing a chain reaction of trouble. There was a stewards' inquiry into the spill but there was no action deemed necessary.

FIRST ROMANCE stalked the pace early, fanned into the five path in the far turn and faded during the stretch run. FINISHING TOUCH was done early.

HOW BOUT THAT contended between horses, came four wide but weakened during the drive. BITTERS 'N BOURBON was close up five wide to the stretch, but faltered between rivals and retreated. WATERY MOON was forwardly placed along the inside to the stretch and dropped out. SULTRY CAT contended four wide, was floated out further entering the stretch, exchanged bumps with STANDPOINT through the lane and faded. STANDPOINT was hustled along between horses, angled out leaving the turn, exchanged bumps with SULTRY CAT through the stretch and weakened. JOHNMACK DADDY was slow into stride and was never a factor.

COFFEE CLIQUE rated back between runners nearing the first turn, settled nicely in the two path mid way down the backstretch, dropped towards the hedge gathering momentum leaving the three furlong marker, shifted out a path entering the lane, forged between runners to challenge in mid stretch, dueled inside DAME MARIE, took over with about thirty yards remaining and was edging away under right handed encouragement. DAME MARIE settled in the clear in the three path, angled four wide advancing into the lane, rallied to command soon past the three sixteenths marker, drifted in under right handed rousing while dueling on a slim lead a sixteenth out then gave way grudgingly. EFFIE TRINKET stalked the pace three wide, gained into the lane, challenged between runners in mid stretch, steadied when DAME MARIE drifted in, altered out to regroup and kept on willingly. READY SIGNAL saved ground under early rating, made some progress mid way on the final turn, angled out four wide in the drive and had belated interest. CENTRE COURT broke awkwardly and towards the outside, settled off the pace while removed from the hedge, was put to a ride three furlongs out, angled six wide in upper stretch and rallied mildly. I'M ALREADY SEXY cleared early, was a bit tough to rate while eager, moved away a bit mid way down the backstretch, saw her lead dwindle into the lane, was met soon after, kept on to mid stretch then gave way. MIZ IDA lagged back off the pace while saving ground, swung wide for the drive and had mild late interest. TAPICAT angled out early and stalked the pace, was put to pressure two wide past the five sixteenths pole, gained slightly into the stretch then had nothing left for the final three sixteenths. ABSOLUTE CRACKERS (IRE) popped the gate when fractious pre race, settled off the pace while off the inside, came under a ride around the final turn but had no response.

GENERAL JACK bumped with PICOZZA at the start, was in tight between horses entering the first turn, tucked in to find room, slipped through entering the stretch but failed to make headway through the drive. WOODFIELD SPRINGS settled in hand four wide, moved up between horses on the second turn but failed to sustain the drive. PICOZZA bumped with GENERAL JACK at the start, was close up four wide to the stretch, but faltered between rivals and faded. CHIEF BARKER (IRE) broke slow, was unhurried and passed only the tiring ones. CLEBURNE was never a factor. CRAFTSMAN (IRE) opened clear to set the pace, was headed after a half, disputed the issue through the second turn and stopped.

CENTRAL BANKER , four wide stalking the pace, leaned in leaving the half mile pole bumping LAUGH TRACK and tightening QUIET FORCE and BROADWAY EMPIRE, was quickly righted and dropped in a path to take aim mid turn, bid to join DELAUNAY entering the lane, wandered outward a bit soon after, straightened and went clear under solid right handed encouragement approaching the furlong grounds, met the bid of SHAKIN IT UP a sixteenth later, drifted out to race in close proximity of that one and dug in tenaciously to prevail. SHAKIN IT UP settled off the pace four wide and in the clear, responded when leaving the three eighths pole, made a bold four wide run into the stretch, ranged up to be on near even terms inside the sixteenth marker, dueled, was floated out late with his rider unable to use the left stick and was held at bay. CLEARLY NOW was squeezed back soon after the break, lagged off the early pace, gathered momentum when put to a strong ride mid turn, swung six wide into the lane, rallied on his left lead to loom in mid stretch then flattened out. BROADWAY EMPIRE accelerated along the rail to join the leaders after a quarter mile, was bumped and shuffled back around the far turn, regained stride and angled out, edged up to be within striking distance a quarter mile out, kept on willingly between runners to the sixteenth pole then faded. DELAUNAY set a rated pace three wide outside rivals, dropped in a path around the turn, was engaged by the winner after five furlongs, gave brief resistance then tired through the final furlong. CAPO BASTONE had no speed while off the rail, angled six to seven wide while under a ride into the stretch, closed belatedly but could not threaten. SAHARA SKY , off the pace while saving some ground, was under pressure after a half mile, angled four wide into the lane but could not make an impact. LAUGH TRACK stalked the early pace three wide between runners, was bumped and put in tight by the winner nearing the turn, gave chase around the turn and faded. QUIET FORCE steadied off of rivals while stalking early, bumped and checked sharply entering the turn, failed to recover and dropped back mid turn. FALLING SKY vied inside of DELAUNAY to the head of the stretch then surrendered. RIVER BEAR broke a step slow, was maneuvered towards the rail near the half mile pole, dropped back soon after and was being eased.

WISE DAN fought restraint and wrestled back shortly after leaving the gate, finally settled behind the pacesetters into the first turn, continued through the backstretch while in the three to four path, was in the four path into the far turn and entering the lane, kicked in upper stretch with heavy pressure from inside then locked up with SEEK AGAIN for a prolonged drive late in the stretch run, dug in gamely and won the nod valiantly. SEEK AGAIN bobbled at the start and recovered quickly to be well placed in the three path through the backstretch, continued off the rail through the far turn, waited for room along the inside entering the lane, once clear angled in and made his move, rallied quickly from the hedge with a prolonged drive late in the stretch but was out-nodded and just missed at the wire. BOISTEROUS hopped at the start and was unhurried early, raced in the second flight down the backstretch, swung into the five path entering the lane, made a bid in the stretch run but evened out late in the drive. KAIGUN broke awkwardly from the gate and was back early, shifted into the three path entering the lane with a mild gain in the stretch run. ADMIRAL KITTEN was reserved early, fanned into the six path in the far turn, made a bid in the stretch but flattened out late in the drive. GUYS REWARD trailed the field early, floated into the five path entering the lane with a belated gain. MORO TAP swung into the seven path in the far turn and improved position in the stretch. FINNEGANS WAKE showed no speed early, floated into the six path entering the lane with a minor bid but weakened late in the drive. BRIGHT THOUGHT set the pace early, was off the rail into the far turn but faltered in the lane. CALIFORNIA CHROME rated kindly three wide and just off of a contested pace, moved between runners to challenge leaving the five sixteenths marker, poked a head in front with a quarter to go, shook clear when roused, increased his advantage a furlong out, kept on under right handed rousing then held sway. COMMANDING CURVE , unhurried early, raced three wide nearing the half mile marker, advanced between runners departing the far turn, swung eight wide entering the stretch and closed nicely. DANZA was shuffled back in the opening stages, dropped to the rail for the run into the first turn, was maneuvered to the three path leaving the five furlong marker, gathered momentum under a strong ride into the far turn, progressed between runners past the three eighths marker, edged up behind foes approaching the quarter pole, awaited room nearing the furlongs, steered out bumping MEDAL COUNT, straightened away and churned on with interest. WICKED STRONG stumbled at the break, drifted in bumping CANDY BOY when five wide into the first turn, came in again tightening DANCE WITH FATE and GENERAL A ROD leaving the six furlong marker, leveled into stride between horses entering far turn, gained nearing the lane, altered in to avoid DANZA in mid stretch, continued to weave through traffic and finished willingly. SAMRAAT was brushed at the start then bumped racing between rivals into the first turn, recovered and gained a forward spot four wide, lodged a bid outside the winner near the quarter pole, continued willing chase past the furlongs grounds but was outfinished. DANCE WITH FATE was jostled between horses at the break, shuffled back around the first turn, was bumped and shut off when WICKED STRONG came in leaving the three quarter pole, recovered and commenced a four wide run leaving the far turn, angled seven wide for the drive and kept trying to the wire. RIDE ON CURLIN dove towards the rail soon after the break, settled well off the pace while remaining inside, steadied off heels when making headway into the lane, altered course nine wide inside three sixteenths pole, wandered outward despite right handed urging inside the sixteenth pole and had a belated gain. MEDAL COUNT was shuffled back upon entering the first turn, settled between foes four wide near the five furlong marker, took closer order when ridden between runners heading to the quarter pole, steadied sharply after being bumped by DANZA in mid stretch, angled in late and finished fairly well. CHITU , away awkwardly, tightened rivals when angling down in the first furlong, vied two wide outside of UNCLE SIGH down the backstretch, was joined by the winner nearing the quarter pole, disputed the issue to the eighth pole then surrendered. WE MISS ARTIE angled towards the rail in the opening sixteenth, steadied off the heels of VINCEREMOS, near the five and a half furlong marker, moved off the rail and advanced with COMMANDING CURVE into the lane, shifted out widest in upper stretch, gained past the eighth pole then failed to sustain. GENERAL A ROD was taken to rate off the pace, steadied in close quarters leaving the six furlong pole, dropped towards the rail for the run around the final turn, moved back out in upper stretch, made some progress past the eighth pole, angled back to the inside steadied when tightened up near the wire. INTENSE HOLIDAY bumped with SAMRAAT when six wide into the first turn, angled in a path to stalk the pace, was within reach under urging nearing the lane, angled out, pursued to mid stretch then weakened under left handed pressure. CANDY BOY steadied along between runners nearing the first, bumped and swerved outward after taking up near the seven eighths pole, dropped off the pace while continuing wide, drifted about in upper stretch and failed to recover. UNCLE SIGH drifted in foes early, set a pressured pace towards the rail, battled inside rivals past the five sixteenths marker then faltered in upper stretch. TAPITURE broke awkwardly, steadied along between foes nearing the first turn, was forced out near the seven eighths marker, continued four to five wide chasing the pace, raced in close quarters in upper stretch then succumbed. HARRY'S HOLIDAY was roughed up between foes as UNCLE SIGH drifted in near the three sixteenths pole the first time around, pulled his way forward while a bit rank between rivals, remained in range to the far turn, dropped back and was eased late. VINCEREMOS was squeezed back early, then steadied along behind foes into and around the firs turn, angled towards the rail for the backstretch run and tired inside after seven furlongs. WILDCAT RED bobbled and bumped with DANCE WITH FATE at the break, steadied soon after, was shuffled back near the seven eighths pole, lost ground five to six wide down the backstretch and faltered nearing the far turn. VICAR'S IN TROUBLE checked and was bounced around inside foes in the opening sixteenth, was a bit rank to place, settled into stride in about the two path nearing the backstretch, made steady progress to loom a presence a half mile out, came under urging near the three eighths pole failed to on, stopped and was eased. Due to the scratch of HOPPERTUNITY and PABLO DEL MONTE the inside stall of the starting gate was left vacant.

POSITIVELY was never a threat. CARVING was through after a half. SHUT UP CHRIS had early speed then folded up.

AWESOME SKY was squeezed early and clipped heels, settled in the back of the field, swung into the six path in the far turn and moved up in the stretch drive. H TOWN BROWN chased the pace early while four wide, was off the rail into the far turn and empty late in the stretch. FOR GOODNESS SAKE came in and bothered foe early, shifted into the four path in the far turn while making a bid but faded in the stretch. MATCH UP was never a factor. PARTY TIME was through after a half. SILENT RULER was bothered early and eased in the stretch. APPEALING ALEX failed to avoid the fallen foe and lost the rider, was vanned off. CANADIAN WINNER broke down and lost the rider.
