MAKE EM DASH in tight 1/16, steadied. EYESA MAGIC RIDE squeezed, jostled, checked 1/8, altered out. FEATURE OTOOLE squeezed, jostled, checked 1/8, altered out. There was a stewards' inquiry into the race and an objection lodged by the trainer of BS ARE WILD alleging interference from SIZZLING CORONA deep stretch. After their review, the stewards disqualified RELAGATE SIGNS for coming in and causing FEATURE OTOOLE and EYESA MAGIC RIDE to take up midstretch. The objection against SIZZLING CORONA was not upheld.

THIS SNOW IS GONE vied, hand ride, edged ahead. MB FAR TO TRENDY pressed, lugged in some late, got 2nd. BUILDEMHIGH bumped start, vied, not enough late. SHABOOMATOR no mishap, evenly. SHIRLEY SCHMIDT pressed, weakened. IMA FANCY CARTEL bumped, squeezed start, in tight inside 1/8. RC GRIMM forced in start, bumped, chased, weakened. SIXES SEIS bumped, squeezed start, brushed repeatedly inside 1/8. CORONA TALK broke in, checked nearing 1/8, no late bid.

JENUINE JOY brushed start, vied, mild drive, edged ahead. LETHAL DELIGHT broke out, vied, not enough late. BLAZIN N SHAKIN dueled, weakened. MY BOX OF CHOCOLATE lugged into gap, corrected, bid, weakened. RIME HAS A CHICK altered out some early, drifted out badly late. MS REGARD drifted out some early, vied, weakened. BP SHES SOUTHERN crowded, brushed start, pressed, weakened. WOODY DUNGAREES pressed, weakened. BLUSHING DAISY away slowly, cut off, altered out, no factor. There was a stewards' inquiry into the start but no action taken after their review.

CANDY APPLE RED emerged with the lead from between horses, lengthened command while saving on the turn, continued to open up in the stretch and was kept to task to the final sixteenth. DISOBEYED without early foot toward the outside, angled in nearing the turn, progressed along the rail, swung out five wide leaving the bend, moved clear for second inside the final furlong, gave futile chase deep stretch but proved clearly second best. MANES was angled out early, improved position between rivals, fanned six wide for the stretch run, gradually lugged in the final furlong but got up for third late. JANNA GAL without speed between rivals, came three wide into the stretch, gradually advanced, altered inside SMART AND FASTER late and outfinished that one. SMART AND FASTER prominent first inside then outside CANDY APPLE RED, floated out a bit entering the stretch, began to tire inside the last furlong and was drifting out in the waning yards. RAPID FIRE trailed, swung out to path six for the stretch run and steadily improved position without threatening. COURTLY PROSPECT void of speed between horses, angled in entering the bend, was along the rail into the lane, passed tired ones upper stretch then leveled off. VICTORY DREAM in the second flight on the backstretch, took over third three wide on the turn, fanned out some leaving the bend and faded. GRACIELA'S FLIGHT showed no speed between rivals, backed up three wide on the turn, swung out some entering the lane and drifted out late. HERIBERTA prominent between horses on the backstretch, failed to keep up on the turn, was just off the inside leaving the bend and quickly faded through the stretch. EMPIRITA widest most of the way, failed to menace. SLEEPY ROSE displayed early foot between horses but gave way into the bend.

PALOMA MESA contested the pace between horses, in path three entering the bend, was just off the inside when she gained the advantage leaving the turn and gradually opened up under a drive after entering the last furlong. R BLING bumped at the break, was boxed in behind the early speed, got through three wide leaving the turn, loomed a threat with a furlong to go, soon took second but proved no match for the winner late. ARMORY broke inward, bumping R BLING, was prominent four wide, blocked behind PALOMA MESA while three wide on the bend, gained a clear path just outside R BLING leaving the turn, lacked the needed bid but caught WHISPER TOTHESOUTH in the waning yards. WHISPER TOTHESOUTH set a pressured pace just off the inside, took the rail leaving the turn, could not stay with PALOMA MESA inside the final furlong, gradually wore down but was easily best of the rest. GOLDEN SPRINGS broke alertly but was soon chasing others from outside, lost ground taking the turn four then five wide and flattened out for the drive. NATURAL CANDY displayed early speed inside but began to tire on the turn. COCKTAILSFORFATMAN broke in the air, trailed while not far off the inside and came up empty for the stretch run.

RED LEAD rated not far off the inside for more than a half mile, picked up his pace along the rail on the second bend, angled outside LYDIA'S LAST STEP leaving that turn, floated out to path four for the stretch run, slowly closed the gap and took over in the waning yards. LYDIA'S LAST STEP broke in stride, showed the way in hand just off the rail, was put to a drive into the stretch, did not have enough left inside the final sixteenth but was clearly second best. BLACK HILLS hesitated at the break, was soon well back and inside, swung outside into the second turn, was in path four at the head of the lane, altered inside upper stretch when his path was taken, took over third with a furlong left then could only pull clear for that position late. GUIDING HAND chased LYDIA'S LAST STEP from outside, was three wide on the second turn, floated out leaving that bend, lost his path upper stretch, came out some and gradually faded. INFINITE RESOURCE was not a factor in a ground-saving trip. BROTHER WARBUCKS in midpack early, moved to the outside midway on the backstretch then gave way just off the inside on the second turn.

HIGHSPEED RESCUE reared and made a large leap from the gate, was settled, soon far back and inside, picked up her pace after a half mile, progressed along the rail on the second turn, weaved around traffic nearing the quarter pole, rallied in the lane under a drive, took over from inside after entering the last sixteenth and was drew off. SHAMROCK GIRL advanced five wide on the backstretch, took over from path three on the second turn and quickly moved clear, drifted out some midstretch under a left whip, was corrected under right-handed pressure then gradually lugged in through the late going. SQUALL WILBUD steadily progressed from outside to move clear for second four wide leaving the second bend, angled out some as SHAMROCK GIRL came out midstretch, finished evenly but was easily best of the others. LIKE THE WIND in contention four wide on the backstretch, went for the lead in close quarters two wide early in the second turn, could not stay with SHAMROCK GIRL and SQUALL WILBUD leaving that bend and flattened out in the stretch. SQUALLENA was steadied back from crowding shortly after the break, made up ground just off the inside, was in tight quarters between rivals briefly into the second bend, angled out some and advanced three wide shortly after that but could not sustain her bid through the lane. TEQUILA MOONRISE broke outward, bumping TIN CAT KITTY, was without speed between horses, just off the inside entering the second turn, swung out to path five for the stretch run and had no late bid. RUBY TEQUILA gradually advanced to contention just off the inside on the backstretch, backed up three wide on the second turn, angled out for a clear path upper stretch but had little to offer. CARMON'S TRICK steadily faded from inside on the backstretch, came off the rail some on the second turn, drifted out to the middle of the track for the stretch run, proved unresponsive, distanced and walked off. A J'S FLICKA chased the early speed from paths two or three, gave way just off the rail on the second turn, also unresponsive the last quarter mile, distanced and walked off. TIN CAN KITTY bumped at the start, was hustled clear, showed the way just off the inside, took the rail into the second bend, quit with three furlongs left, was allowed to coast through the stretch, was distanced as well and also walked off.
