The big weekend is upon us, and there is plenty to do to get ready. I have looked over weather forecasts, watched replays and morning works, and gone looking for spot plays for Friday and Saturday. Take a look, start thinking ahead, and use this as an appetizer. The proven information is in your WinningPonies E-Z Win® Forms, which show how each race will take shape.
Friday
Juvenile Turf Sprint
#5 Mussab (GB), 15-1. The Europeans hold up very well in this race, and he exits the Grade 3 Cornwallis Stakes, a strong prep for this event. He is tactical with a strong turn of foot for the Peter Fahey yard, and he gets an extra half furlong to get motoring as they turn for home.
Juvenile Fillies Turf
#12 Domestic Agenda, 8-1. Flavien Prat is aboard for Chad Brown, exiting a win in the Grade 2 Miss Grillo Stakes. The daughter of American Pharoah is a perfect 2-for-2, and she got even better after her maiden win, so more improvement is on the horizon.
Juvenile Turf
#4 Haffner, 8-1. A son of Justify for the Aidan O'Brien yard, which has been very tough in this race over the years. He exits a win in the key prep, the Grade 2 Royal Lodge at Newmarket. Christophe Soumillon is in the saddle as the trainer seeks his fifth straight win in this event.
Saturday
Filly & Mare Turf
#5 Kathynmarissa, 5-1. A daughter of American Pharoah for Chad Brown with Jose Ortiz, and she's looking for three straight wins. She won the Flower Bowl and comes in making her second start off the shelf, a spot where the barn wins 25%. She has some morning works at Keeneland, and I'm looking for a good couple of days for the Chad Brown barn.
Mile
#8 Notable Speech, 7-5. The son of Dubawi (IRE) won this race in 2025 for turf master Charlie Appleby. His regular rider William Buick is aboard as always, so look for a strong late kick in the lane. He won the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile, which has been an excellent prep for this race, and the rider and trainer are winning 24% as a team.
Turf
#10 Tiffany, 10-1. She ships from across the pond and made a stop at Kentucky Downs to win the Grade 2 Kentucky Turf Cup. She is very consistent, finishing in the money in 17 of 19 starts, and when the big money is on the table she may bring her best game.
Best of luck, Ed
