Saratoga Race Course Picks, Results & Big 'Uns

Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York, has hosted Thoroughbred racing since 1863, making it one of the oldest venues in American sport. Its summer meet runs from early July through Labor Day and draws the strongest stables in the country, which makes for deep, competitive fields nearly every day. Cards mix the dirt main track with two turf courses, main and inner, plus occasional steeplechase races.

The meet is built around the Travers Stakes, first run in 1864 and the centerpiece of late August for three-year-olds. Saratoga also hosted the Belmont Stakes from 2024 through 2026 while Belmont Park was being rebuilt, run at a shortened 1¼ miles on Saratoga's smaller main track.

Saratoga Race Course ran 50 racing days in the past year on dirt and turf. Fields averaged 8.1 starters and races ranged from 5 1/2f to 2 3/8m. Claiming races here have averaged a $50,783 tag recently. WinningPonies' picks produced 155 Big 'Un payouts at Saratoga Race Course in the past year totaling $37,797, the largest a $4,280 Pick 5 on August 26, 2026. The Pick 3 has been the most common winning Big 'Un wager.
