ENGLISHMAN was away alertly, showed speed then pressed the pace on the outside, vied in three path for most of the turn, took the lead in the four path coming to the quarter-pole, moved clear in the five path into upper stretch, shied in when flagged with a right-handed crop near the furlong marker, was given one light pop of the crop outside the sixteenth-pole and proved much the best while kept to the task. CRUDE VELOCITY broke awkwardly and was off a step slow, moved up under urging, shifted out late on the backstretch, chased in the four path on the turn and proved no match for the winner while just able to get the place. OBLITERATION settled towards the rear, was roused while inside to the two path on the turn, swung out to the five path into the stretch and improved to just miss the place while well clear for the show. GILDED BANDIT lacked speed and settled at the rear, was urged along while inside to the two path on the turn, swung out to the six path into the stretch and was no factor. CIVIL LIBERTY was urged along off the pace, went around the turn in the four to five path, moved out in upper stretch and failed to respond. STRADALE was hustled from the gate, moved up to establish a good position just off the pace, chased inside on the turn, moved to the two path late on that bend, was driven into the stretch in the three path and capitulated. SOLITUDE DUDE was hustled from the gate, moved up to get the lead then set the pace under pressure from his outside, vied inside to the two path on the turn, lost the advantage to the winner at the quarter-pole and faded. SIX SPEED was away awkwardly, dropped well off the pace, went around the turn in the two path and faltered then was eased in the stretch but walked off. TAJ MAHAL brushed the outside of the gate at the start, was urged along on the outside, dropped back after running three furlongs and retreated then was also eased but walked off.

NYSOS got bumped at the start by VIBE, who broke in a step, raced along the rail leading early on before coming under pressure from a pair nearing the backstretch, vied inside a pair of rivals with KNIGHTSBRIDGE in close attendance latched on the trio to the outside, eased off those rivals with five and a half furlongs to go and chased along the inside through to the three-eighths marker when tipped out two then three wide briefly before heading back to the two path at the five-sixteenths placed to encouragement, angled six wide into upper stretch rallying to engage the top pair and took command three-sixteenths from home, then edged clear to the finish to score. KNIGHTSBRIDGE got bumped at the break by RATED BY MERIT, who broke outwards, raced four wide through the first turn advancing to latch on a trio of rivals to the outside heads apart and disputing the pace into the backstretch, remained latched on while applying little pressure save through his presence until given a notch to advance three wide into the far turn to knock heads with SAUDI CROWN and ANTIQUARIAN to his inside through that bend tucking to the two path midway as SAUDI CROWN backed away and ANTIQUARIAN took to the rail, seized command nearing the quarter pole and angled five wide into upper stretch under growing threat to the outside, got collared near the three-sixteenths, dug in under a drive unable to match the top one late while keeping on to preserve the place honors on the wire. JOURNALISM four then three wide through the first turn, tucked to the two path six and a half furlongs from home just before entering the backstretch, chased two to three wide down the backstretch before heading three wide through the far turn coming under light coaxing at the seven-sixteenths pole, angled out seven wide into upper stretch under a drive, offered up a mild kick closing late for the show honors. ANTIQUARIAN away to the front, vied between foes from the two path into the backstretch then had NYSOS ease off and vied inside a pair near the half mile pole into the turn when joined by KNIGHTSBRIDGE to the outside, came under coaxing near the five-sixteenths now engaged by KNIGHTSBRIDGE alone as SAUDI CROWN backed away, yielded the front and spun just off the inside into upper stretch, then weakened in the drive. SAUDI CROWN came out slightly after the start pinching back RATED BY MERIT, raced three wide through the first turn, vied three then two wide between foes coming under coaxing near the three-eighths pole, got shaken off inside that station and went three to four wide into upper stretch and tired. RATED BY MERIT broke out at the start bumping KNIGHTSBRIDGE, then got pinched out lightly by pressure from SAUDI CROWN, chased two to three wide from the tail of the field coming under coaxing with seven-sixteenths to run, angled in and took the inside route into upper stretch and made no impact. VIBE broke in a step at the start and bumped NYSOS, chased along the inside coming under coaxing at the half mile pole, angled out six to seven wide into upper stretch, got placed to a protective hold near the eighth pole, then got pulled up a sixteenth from home and was attended to and vetted and was subsequently transported off the course via the equine ambulance.

TEST SCORE settled near the middle of the field while saving ground, was urged along passing the half-mile pole, came off the inside late on the far turn, turned into the stretch under the crop and finished with good courage but missed while up for the place. ONE STRIPE (SAF) dropped back then angled in at the rear of the field, rounded the first turn in the two path, settled at the back, was roused in the three then four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path then moved further out and closed with late energy to just get the show. GOLDEN TEMPO broke out awkwardly brushing the off side stall at the start, settled unhurried saving ground at the tail of the field, steadily tipped to the two path near the half mile pole, briefly went three wide into the turn before heading back to the two path, came under coaxing near the five-sixteenths and began to angle out bumping COMMANDMENT and nudging that rival out while heading seven to eight wide into upper stretch, rallied in tandem with that rival to overthrow the front a furlong out, dug in under a drive and traded a brush with COMMANDMENT a sixteenth from home, then edged away to the finish to score. COMMANDMENT three wide through the first turn, chased four paths off the inside down the backstretch, continued four wide into the far turn and briefly tucked three wide, came under coaxing at the three-eighths marker, had GOLDEN TEMPO lean out and was bumped then nudged five wide just inside the five-sixteenths pole, continued outwards to swing eight to nine wide into upper stretch, drifted in rallying in concert with the aforementioned foe to overhaul the front a furlong out, dug in and traded a brush at the sixteenth marker, got shaken off inside that station while fighting on to the end. RENEGADE bobbled at the break, raced just off the inside through the first turn before heading three paths off the rail down the backstretch, continued three wide through the far turn coming under urging with five-sixteenths to go, angled six wide into upper stretch, dug in rallying with the top pair to the furlong grounds, then couldn't keep pace late and was shaken off by those rivals while keeping on to be clear for the show honors. CHIEF WALLABEE bobbled at the break, raced just off the inside, got steadied when briefly off heels just off the inside into the first turn with one mile to run, tipped out four paths off the rail down the backstretch and continued four wide through the far turn coming under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go tucking three wide at that station, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, took over the front with three-sixteenths to go, dug in under threat and was caught a furlong out, then weakened through the final furlong. EMERGING MARKET stumbled at the start, raced three wide through the first turn and then three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch, continued three to four wide through the far turn through until tucked to the two path with five-sixteenths remaining, got set down spinning just off the inside for home, dug in under a drive and weakened through to the finish. GROWTH EQUITY forwardly placed from the gate, prompted the leader from the outside three wide through the first turn and then three paths off the inside down the backstretch, continued three wide into the far turn, tucked to the two path when POWERSHIFT took to the rail at the three-eighths pole, then tucked in front of that rival when seizing narrow command impeding him and forcing him to check just inside the five-sixteenths marker and for VITRUVIAN MAN to steady in behind POWERSHIFT, took the inside route now in front and under threat to the outside, relinquished the lead with three-sixteenths to go and weakened through to the wire. VITRUVIAN MAN raced just off the pace two to three wide, tucked inside nearing the three-eighths pole and was steadied off the heels of POWERSHIFT tucked to the rail, the rider nearly standing up, then got steadied once more at the five-sixteenths pole when POWERSHIFT was impeded directly in front at that station by GROWTH EQUITY, swung three wide into upper stretch and tired. OTTINHO chased just off the inside from mid pack, came under prolonged urging half a mile from home and faded through the far turn, went four wide into upper stretch and tired. POWERSHIFT buckled at the break, came under coaxing and showed the way in hand just off the inside under prompting from GROWTH EQUITY to the outside, remained just off the inside until tucked to the two path three furlongs out forcing VITRUVIAN MAN to steady in behind, then got displaced narrowly from command near the five-sixteenths and was checked when impeded at that station when GROWTH EQUITY took to the rail directly in front, and in turn forced VITRUVIAN MAN to steady once more in behind, faded and took the inside route into upper stretch, then folded in the drive.
