Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, opened on October 15, 1936, and has raced in two short, high-quality meets every year since: April and October. With only a few weeks of racing each spring and fall, nearly every card is loaded with graded stakes horses from the country's top barns.

The spring meet's headline race is the Blue Grass Stakes, a major prep for the Kentucky Derby. Keeneland raced on a synthetic Polytrack main track from 2006 until 2014, when it returned to dirt.
